When registering, if you tell Audible that your address and credit card
address are in new york - say the Hotel Edisson on 47th street or
something ( go googling) - you'll break thru that annoying copyright
issue that stops UK residents downloading latest books.
I've had no problems ... Except with the annoying copyright laws.

Carol - Can't comment on the Book Courier, but yes, you can subscribe to
Audible, I think they offer 2 downloads per month for about $14.95; I
don't
have a subscription with them, just downloading when I want, I usually
wait
for their special offers that seem to occur 3-4 times a year, when they
give
substantial discounts; there is one on at the moment offering 30%
discount.
Their books will play in WMP, but they have their own software called
Audible Manager, part of which is a Desk-Top player wich gives good
navigation and bookmarking facilities for the Audible books.
Just one word of warning, some of their titles are not available for
download outside of the US, so that can restrict your choice; I have
found
that this seems to happen with certain new or recent titles - non the
less,
there is a very good selection, but again, bear in mind, not all books
are
available in format 4, which is the best sound quality. I think if you
join
one of the Audible plans at the moment, you can get your first 2 titles
for
99 cents - I've too much reading from others sources as well as Audible
to
find time to commit to their 2 titles per month subscription, but many
think
it great value.
