Hi Jackie, Chris and all,

I am also on BT Broadband., and can confirm that there is no
need to install any software.

However, Jackie, I think I can understand what BT meant when
they were saying to let your broadband settle down.  From
reading messages on the BT Broadband Support News Group, I
think BT were allowing for what they call your IP Profile to
reach its maximum level on your line, in order that your
connection was at it's most stable.
