Ah, right - sorry, I didn't see where you'd said about having plugged
it directly into the box.

Hmm, well this is weird!

There's another possibility which happened to me on Plusnet, and
that's to do with traffic shaping, which almost all ISPs use, to limit
throughput.
It might be misconfigured on your account.

Yet another possibility is that something rogue is installed on your
PC and acting as a server, or you've not set up your wireless security
and a neighbour is hogging all your broadband.

Do you know how much bandwidth you've used last month? Does it tally
with what you'd expect?
If you only do a bit of surfing and email and stuff and Orange say
you've downloaded, say, 60Gb, then that might be a problem too!

Some ISPs also limit you to a very slow speed once you've exceeded
your allowance. So it could be that, too!

Ultimately, it would be good to get Orange to have a really good look
at your situation.
But I've been with Orange and it was such a total nightmare with
virtually non-existent customer service, hence why I'm helping you as
I feel your pain, as it were!
