Subject: [access-uk] EXCEL QUESTIONS AGAIN

Hi all,

Well, I have more EXCEL questions, but these are different from the last
and, even if you know one and not all, a response would be welcome!

1 Is it possible to send EXCEL sheets (rather than the whole workbook via
Outlook Express. I've read this is possible in Outlook but wonder if anyone
has found a way to do it in Outlook Express?

Answer
Don't specifically know, but you could save the sheet (rather than the whole
book) and then send it as an attachment.

2 In a friend's workbook, which I now use regularly, I've noticed that,
when sorting on a column, that column is automatically spoken by Jaws for me
to choose. However, I think this must be something she's built in as I
haven't achieved this on my own work sheets. Anyone know how to do it,
please? (She doesn't seem to have a clue what I mean when I ask her, but it
does work on her sheets and not mine! <Smiles>)
answer:
if she is also using JAWS, there is a facility include colun and row hidings
within the sheet. Otherwise it could be a function of your verbosity settings.

3 With my friend's spread sheet, I also notice something different and
can't quite fathom it: On my own sheets, CTRL+HOME (using Jaws) causes me
to be positioned at my first cell, IE, A1. On her sheet, I then have to
press left arrow once in order to land at the same point, IE, her A1. Has
she just shifted cells left (perhaps to show more on screen)? Even if this
is so, I can't reproduce it myself though, of course, can copy it using her
sheet. If anyone knows what I'm waffling on about and how to achieve it
then I'd be most grateful to know.
Answer:
It may be verbosity settings.
Also, she may have locked the cell.

4 - and finally I love EXCEL and now have several sheets I use. I learn
something with each new sheet but realise there's lots more I can still
learn. Does anyone have any suggestions about good, straightforward
tutorials for visually impaired people (preferably using JAWS) that I'd find
useful?
Answer:
Albeit a little old, the John Wilson one is instructive.

Thanks for replies to any or all of these questions.
