Yeah, I see what you mean. And will do that - but I just thought there'd be
some way of telling Excel "Make everything in this column x format
regardless of how many more lines I add" - so without selecting loads of
cells.

I'm reading this lot backwards but, you are selecting the cells you want to format first?

For example, when I was doing a sheet last week to list my DVD's
I put the
highlighted cell as the very first and top one and then cursored
down a few
hundred lines and across a few columns so I had loads and loads of cells
selected that would be altered when I formatted.
