Hi Carol,
Within OE message rules, you can opt to select, either an individual or
group messages, Do not download it from the server from the list of rules
options. This is for pop3 protocol though. I'm not sure it will delete it
from the Google service. Just like years ago in Hotmail. You could delete
your e-mails from the inbox, but you had to wait for Hotmail's Bot to get
around to actually doing it.

Hi all,

I'm struggling to find a setting in Gmail which will automatically delete
incoming messages from my account once I've downloaded them to my computer. 
I still prefer to work in Outlook Express rather than on the WEB and would
be grateful if anyone can tell me if this can be set for a POP3 account.
