Oh, I think I see what you're saying ... I know my file structure and haven't any similar folders elsewhere in the tree, so it's not a problem to me but I can see that it could be ...
Can't think of anything else to help right now. Let me know if you find a solution.

Hi Carol,<smile> thanks for the help, and I will endeavour to keep fiddling with it. But it seems when I first go into the add favourite dialog, all the folders are open in that combobox. I don't have to press Enter to open them - when I press Tab and land on the combobox JAWS says "1 of 101", and I don't have 101 top level folders; also when I just cursor down I notice that the folders definitely are open to start with because I can remember what some of them are/where they are in the structure; but with others I can't remember the structure which is why it's confusing when JAWS doesn't indicate that something is a folder within another folder.Catherine----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 03, 2007 2:20 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Help with adding Favourites in IE7Catherine,I also have folders within folders and know what you're saying ... but I manage perfectly well with the method given below. Once you hit enter on a folder then you're looking at all the folders off that one. I wish I could explain it more clearly but do play around and I'm sure you'll see how it works.-- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Catherine Turner" <catherineturner2000@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, November 02, 2007 10:24 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Help with adding Favourites in IE7Thanks Carol. I am able to add favourites, but the problem is I have folders within folders and for putting Favourites in those it's going to be a pain because it'll be confusing for knowing exactly where I'm putting them. e.g. I have a folder called programming; within that there are several folders including web, and within web there are several folders too. So it gets confusing when JAWS doesn't report levels. Thanks, Catherine----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 10:18 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Help with adding Favourites in IE7Catherine, I just cursor down to the folder I want, hit "Enter", then ensure I've calling the "favorite" the name I want it to have. I think the reason I didn't jump in on this was that I do it so automatically and it does work, so give it a go. Hopefully you'll find it's not too much of a pain after all. <Smiles>-- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Catherine Turner" <catherineturner2000@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 8:28 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Help with adding Favourites in IE7Hi Ray,Thanks for the explanation. Hmmmm I don't like this at all since JAWS isn't reporting levels so it's just like one combobox and the way JAWS works with it I can't tell what level things are at. Maybe this is the trigger I needed to try firefox...Catherine----- Original Message ----- From: "Ray's Home" <rays-home@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, October 29, 2007 11:25 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Help with adding Favourites in IE7To add to the explanation belowe, opening the favorites menu and arrowing down to the bottom reveals all for viewing. Not that I access favorites this way. I usually simply type'favorites' in the run dialogue box and navigate as in whatever folderview you have set up. Of course you can put more favorites in there while you are about it if you have the link in question. Cheers, From Ray I can be contacted off-list at: mailto:ray-48@xxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- Of Ray's Home Catherine, I've just looked and what happens is that if you have already created a file structure the whole tree of the structure is automatically opened so that the whole tree view is available. I found this when I did alt-down arrow. whence the whole list opens out down the screen. Of course there is a create new folder option in the dialogue too. HTH From Ray I can be contacted off-list at: mailto:ray-48@xxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- Of Catherine TurnerAha, ok...so now I'm wondering since it's a combobox, how do we open afolder within a folder... Other than doing an alt-down-arrow to go down the list, I'll leave it to others to advise re. useful JFW navigation. (I use Firfox almost all the time now, so I've become rusty withIE7.)From Ray I can be contacted off-list at: mailto:ray-48@xxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- Of Catherine Turner I've just upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. When I just added a favourite I had some trouble finding the right folder in the list. JAWS saysit'sa combobox, but I'm not sure whether it's behaving like a tree view or not. Also when I pressed the first letter of the folder I wanted to use nothing seemed to happen. Can anyone explain how the add favourite dialog works in IE7?
