Catherine, I've just looked and what happens is that if you have
already created a file structure the whole tree of the structure is
automatically opened so that the whole tree view is available.  I
found this when I did alt-down arrow. whence the whole list opens out
down the screen.

Of course there is a create new folder option in the dialogue too.

Aha, ok...so now I'm wondering since it's a combobox, how do we open a
folder within a folder...
