Hi George,

While it may be true that if MS mess up, it wouldn't be right, it could
still be and indeed is, quite inferior to some other antivirus packages. In
testing, we found two Trojans got past it, but didn't get past Nod. That's
good enough for me.

All the best

Steve

Hi Catherine,

It is indeed the same file - I've downloaded it enough on different
operating systems to confirm. It will work out for itself what
operating system it is being installed on during the installation.

While David's issue is a worry, there may well be other reasons for it
getting through. I've got it on all my office systems, plus many
others I've installed both here and abroad.

As I've said many times, if Microsoft mess this offering of their up,
there will be a mass migration to Linux, and that will be the end of
them.

George.

Hi Ibrahim and all,

Thanks for the links. I've downloaded what I hope is the right
version now. Ibrahim - the link you gave is very useful, thanks.
It's pretty poor that they don't explain which file to download for
which version of Windows, - they just give the file name - but I think
I got the right one...we'll see...

I'm slightly worried by the fact David got a virus whilst running
MSE...still will give it a go...
