Hi Ronnie.

Control W does not seem to work for me! What is supposed to happen? Is a combo box supposed to show?

Best wishes.

Andy

Hi,
Not sure if I can help, anyway.
To use the NewsGroups in OE just press control plus W and make a sure you
type in edit only in small capital letters to get the result.
In other word if you type any large Capitals letters it may bring you a zero
result.
Regard
Ronnie

Hi again Vince.

I managed to get to the point where I typed in Searching for Newsgroups.
I then pressed enter and nothing happened. I didn't get a box like you
suggested in which to type 2alt or anything. I must say, that I thought
that the old method was much more user friendly. I'm not really sure if
going to all this trouble is worthwhile as I'm only wanting to subscribe
to a SKY TV newsgroup to find out more about SKY Plus and otherservices.

Best wishes.
Andy

Hi, Andy,

Ah, I'm with you. If you're using Outlook Express, go to the Help and in
the Index type "Searching for newsgroups". The instructions are there. I
have an idea this was a bit easier to find in previous versions of O.E..

From what I've found in the past, it's worth trying and subject, putting
2alt." before it and seeing if it exists - quite often it will.

Hope that helps.

Vince.

Hi Vince.

I've not attempted to subscribe to any newsgroups for some years, and
perhaps not since OE 5. However, when I used to have the folder titled
Newsgroups, I'd click on this and be presented with a box to type in a
subject like "computing", "blind computing" or disability blind
computing", and this would result with a list of possible newsgroups for
me to subscribe to. If I no longer have the link, so to speak, how can
I get a list of group subjects?

Best wishes.

I'm sure you haven't done anything wrong, Andy. I don't have a
Newsgroups folder either, though I suppose I could create one. The
newsgroups are simply listed at the bottom of the folder list. Could be
better to make a folder if you belong to a lot of them.

Hi all.

I was just about to search for a particular Newsgroup and arrowed town
the folders in Outlook Express, expecting the bottom folder to be
titled Newsgroups. However, this folder is not shown. I've had a
quick look through my options, thinking that I may have un-checked a
tick-box, but cannot find any reference to having this folder shown.
Any one any idea how to fix this please?

Best wishes.

Andy
