Hi Andrew
Best wishes.
Andy.
Hi,
Actually the search box in that program (IIRC) is very silly, because of the way it brings up several matches, all not quite what you want. If you type in a word, you would quite often get the first newsgroup with that word in, but not the rest of the m.
A better way is to download a text file of the groups, then search that way through Notepad.
Andrew.

Hi, Andy,
Ah, I'm with you. If you're using Outlook Express, go to the Help and in the Index type "Searching for newsgroups". The instructions are there. I have an idea this was a bit easier to find in previous versions of O.E..
From what I've found in the past, it's worth trying and subject, putting
2alt." before it and seeing if it exists - quite often it will.
Hope that helps.
Vince.

titledHi Vince.
I've not attempted to subscribe to any newsgroups for some years, and perhaps not since OE 5. However, when I used to have the folderNewsgroups, I'd click on this and be presented with a box to type in a
forsubject like "computing", "blind computing" or disability blind computing", and this would result with a list of possible newsgroupsme to subscribe to. If I no longer have the link, so to speak, howcan INewsgroupsget a list of group subjects?
Best wishes.

I'm sure you haven't done anything wrong, Andy. I don't have aarefolder either, though I suppose I could create one. The newsgroupsmake asimply listed at the bottom of the folder list. Could be better totownfolder if you belong to a lot of them.
