Hi, she has never backed up her mailboxes in her lifetime, and nor have I,
in fact. When I mean deleting the identities, I mean a special hidden folder
buried in c:\documents and settings\default user\identities. I also mean
that there's a registry folder called Identities, which can be found in the
root of HKEY_Current_User. Thanks for recommending Eudora, I will give it a
shot, along with Thunderbird, and see which one I think would be suited for
her.

Chris,

Eudora is an option alot of screenreader users go for.

I personally think Microsoft Outlook (although usable), is not suited to a
home user unless you're running an Exchange server.

Re: The OE problems.

I'd suggest backing her mailboxes up with one of the many outlook express
backup tools out there, deleting the identity from within Outlook Express's
file menu.
Creating a blank identity witht he exact same name of the deleted one.
Restoring the Outlook Express backup.

If you want a tip I'd stear clear of EBackup as a tool and if this has been
used and IE7 recently put on this is most likely the cause of the problems.
The backups taken with EBackup whilst IE7 is on the machine corrupt the
identity.
