I have no issue with them abandoning a format as long as the replacement stream is of equivalent value. This they have not bothered to do as they clearly just want to bully people away from the format. Moving on should not leave people behind who do not have an alternative technology currently available. The delivery of radio by long wave is far more ancient technology but there is no restlessness to abandon this as they would not get away with it. It is only our minority status which makes their strategy in any sense politically acceptable.

Apparently it is necessary to protect cricket coverage for the Radio 4 Long wave audience but perfectly acceptable to remove it for blind folk using specialist devices.
