Interesting, Christopher. I'll get onto my supplier about this but won't hold my breath whilst they do something about it!

Hello,

The answer to the meter reading problem for those of us who cannot see to read gas or electricity meters is for the companies to install 'Smart Meters', which will send the information to the company automatically. The technology already exists, and one new supplier
is installing 'Smart Meters' for its customers.

Perhaps all those concerned about this matter should contact their suppliers and ask them to install 'Smart Meters'. If we get a negative reaction, another campaign may be just around the corner!

Cheers,

Christopher

Hello All,

Does anyone know if it is now possible to have a gas meter in your home which is fitted with some form of speech chip so that you can get the meter readings from it yourself to give to British GAS. If it is, please supply contact details for how to arrange it, etc.

Thanks.

John.
