Right guys, confession time. Before we got our Cobolt beast 12 years ago, I was always a bit scared of microwave ovens for some inexplicable reason. I'd heard you couldn't put certain cookwear in them, and that they could blow up. So, thought I, sod that for a game of soldiers. Anyway, I decided to go with the Cobolt one at the time and have never regretted it. I don't use it all the time, by any means, but I like to know how long I've set something for, the power it's on, etc. So if it does give up the ghost, I'd consider that the money we paid for it was worthwhile. I think it was £150 or something at the time. So I'd say we've been lucky, even if it goes bang today! (smile.) It doesn't function any longer and I purchased a very simple manual one from Tesco a few months ago, and a timer from Cobolt and find this works for me just fine with what I use a microwave for. I personally don't think the talking ones are worth the extra money if you buy yourself a talking timer. I need to replace an old model which had tactile controls. I have read the details of the two sold by Cobalt and performed a search with Google. That threw up some results in the States which I am not interested in. However there is one sold by Amazon - the Hamleton Beach Delux (model 87106) for $139.95. Rather cheaper than Cobalts model. I did not find the Lg available anywhere. Does anybody have any suggestions or recommendations please? Peter Bentley
