Hi folks. According to this list I was one of the lucky ones. I managed to
upgrade my Pocket without too much trouble, however it has left me with 2
problems which I hope someone can solve. They are, 1, despite downloading
the upgrade notes, I cannot find them anywhere, and when I go to reload them
separately it says I have them already. 2, The more serious problem is that
I now find the guide speech is at a low quality and I cannot find any way of
increasing it. As there is no guide volume in the system menu any more.
I do hope someone will be able to tell me where this is.
Many thanks Bill.

All,

I thought the below, sent to me by Wally Harding of RNIB who kindly asked me
to send him my Plextalk Pocket to try to update, might be of help:

"I was able to reproduce the problem you had and the solution seemed to be
to upgrade it to version 4.04 first and then to 5.00. I've no idea why it
was necessary to do it this way, but it worked".

So it would appear you need to do this incrementally rather than jump a
couple of updates as I had done.

I hope this is useful to someone rather than wasting half a day trying
unsuccessfully as I did last week. And I understand there is yet another
update allegedly coming out this week, so hold onto your hats guys! (smile).

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns
