HI Jackie:

yes, plug it in, and you get sound out of the connected headphones or speakers connected to the soundcard. yank it, and it defaults to the onboard.----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <jackie.cairnsplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Subject: [access-uk] Using a USB external sound card

Enquiring for someone not subscribed here. How well does an external sound card work using USB on a laptop? Are there any makes to recommend or indeed
avoid? And does the sound just default to the laptop's own on-board sound
once the external is disconnected? Forgive me, but I have absolutely no
idea how these things work, never having used one before.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns
