Hi Saqib. This is because Hotmail uses a protocol similar to IMAP where all messages are stored server side and not downloaded to your computer. If you moved, read or deleted any messages from your inbox, those changes would show up on all computers in to which you log in to your mail account, either using mail or hotmail on the web. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Saqib To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, March 22, 2009 3:39 PM Subject: [access-uk] Windows Live Mail HI. I'm slightly confused about Windows Live Mail. I'm using my Hotmail account and can't tell whether the messages are downloaded to my computer or not. The reason why I'm enquiring about this because I was checking my mail this morning and left 20 messages in my inbox unread. Later on in the day I logged in to the Mail client and I got the messages in which I'd left unread on the other machine. I had the 20 messages in which I hadn't read this morning plus the new ones that came in. This wouldn't happen with a pop3 account because downloaded messages can not be downloaded again on another machine.
