[access-uk] Word 2003: working with 2 document open side by side

I used to be able to do this regularly using alt+tab to go from one document to
the other, extremely handy for translation purposes. Now, when I open one
document, the other disappears and I can't remember altering anything in the
settings in Word.
Can someone help please? Have an urgent translation to do.
