Hi Jeff, Ribbons are the new way Microsoft have decided to go to replace the drop-menus. They are a pain in the proverbial if you don't have the 'use virtual ribbon menus' enabled in JAWS, but tend to operate similar to the drop-down menus when this is enabled. They take a little while to get used to as the commands have been moved around alittle, but once you get use to them they are fine. A sighted person would see something like a ribbonacross the top of the screen with all the icons depicting the functions, buteven sighted persons find them confusing at first, so no difference there then. I can't find the disks and don't remember the pin. So it looks like a new one. Actually what are ribbons?----- Original Message ----- From: "John Gregory" <jgm.gregory@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 18, 2013 4:48 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Word and OutlookHi Jeff, Do you have various versions of Word or Outlook, or are you intending to purchase? In any event, don't be nervous of ribbons as JAWS works well with them, especially 2010. All you have to do is F6 to the ribbon and use cursor keys to navigate the options. In some cases the old shortcuts still work if you have some favourites.
