Hi Catherine and Chris,
How, though, do I deactivate or close my account, or can I just leave it to close by itself? Yahoo is so useless, I'm thinking of opening an account in a stupid name so that whenever I get to some of those irritating web forms where a company or person wants an email address before letting me do something and I feel uncomfortable about giving any of my real info out, I'd just give them rubbish. It irritates me when I have to fill in a form sometimes before I'm even able to read something. In the past, I'd just fill in every field with no, and then make my email no@xxxxxx, and I could generally just go ahead and download or use whatever was on the other side, but now everyone's becoming more strict, in the way now that they would rather send the download link to your email address for you to open, etc. I once saw a form on a site for reading online Bible studies, where the compulsory fields were even asking how much you earn, single or married, sometimes you don't even read or use services, because you feel that you begin to sort of hate the person who has dared to want to ask you all this meaningless rubbish in a form. Grin.

Glad you agree with me here Katherine!

Agreed. Also, if for some reason you do want to set up another yahoo address - don't bother closing the old one. Just set up a new one and stop checking the old one. They'll probably deactivate the old one after a certain time of you not checking it anyway and if they don't it's their problem.

Ari, close down Yahoo altogether and switch to Googlemail/Gmail <grins>.

Hi all,
Is there anywhere where I can deactivate a yahoo mail address? Basically, this one yahoo address I have is getting so much spam, I'd like to somehow close it down and make a new one, or can you have more than one yahoo address, but I would prefer just to close it, where would I go on the Yahoo page?
