Anyone know if a Winamp plug-in is needed and, if anyone has it, that would be great. Thanks.

Simon,
.ape is the file extension for monkey's audio. It plays on Winamp, you might need a plug in, although I've been playing them that way for years. It's a lossless compressed format, very good.

hello list,
a few days ago, I came across a new audio file format, .ape and no matter what I try, nothing will play them. I can convert them in to more standard formats, thanks to easy cd da extractor, but I tried winamp, realplayer, quicktime, i-tunes, and windows media player, and none of them would actually play the files. does anyone out there know what I can use to actually play these .ape files please?
