it is an external HD I have all the stuff on already, and I want to back it up
a few times, as my almost new 1000gb external drive decided to go wrong a few
weeks ago, and I have spent most of the last 3 weeks trying to re-download all
the stuff I lost from various servers, some of which have been infuriatingly
slow, and it has just about driven me to the edge of insanity!
fortunately, I had a good chunk of the stuff on a second external HD, which is
hooked up to a second computer, so I didn't lose absolutely everything, but
that is why I want to make a few backups.

  Hi Simon.

Have you considered getting an external hard drive instead? Will almost
certainly be cheaper and may actually last longer than the DVD's.

    hello list,
does anyone know of anywhere where I can purchase large quantities of blank
dvd disks, preferably the duel layer 8GB type at a reasonable price?
I am looking to purchase a minimum of 200 disks at a time, possibly more,
as I will be using them to make several backups of my audio/video archive,
which is well over 400GB at the moment.
would prefer to purchase them from with in the UK if possible.
thanks in advance for any help received.
