It is being said—by FAA representatives—that the military are uncomfortable
with these high altitude waivers at this location and that a 250k foot
limit will likely be imposed.
Evolution’s waiver was to 380k feet (exceeding it does not appear likely to
be an issue) and had a 10 nm radius impact zone…which includes all of
Honda’s test track and Redrock Canyon State Park. When I asked, FAA was
clear that any ground damage is the responsibility of the vehicle owner:
“we don’t look at that”.

It's been great to see all the videos of the launch, congrats to them
on the success and to FAR for hosting it. Is it the first space launch
from FAR? Did they get a launch license or was it under a level 3
waiver? Very impressive that they seemed to have GPS and telemetry
lock for the full ascent.

miles away where a NASA USLI team I mentor, CSU Long Beach, launched their
final rocket for the competition. Also launched was a test rocket launch by
CSU Fullerton students for the ESRA IREC SAC competition. Lots happening in
the Mojave Desert.
