Yeah, the "cold fusion" experiment seems to require persistence and
luck, sort of like the "golf" or "fishing" experiments. (After all,
it's rather easy to 'disprove' the hypothesis that a bent stick would
be a useful device for imparting an accurate trajectory to a small
spherical object, or the one that says that an interaction between
string and water would emit a protein-bearing food source!)
