Usually D40 is used because the volatility is a big part of the
advantage of the chemical. The Exxsol and Shellsol chemicals are
functionally identical. You don't buy it direct from the producer,
they have distributor networks. You'll have to look around for the
correct one. I found "Chain Oil"; they only deliver to southeast MI,
but this is the sort of operation you should be looking for.

If you want 25 gallons you should just buy one 55 gallon drum. It's
the unit of commerce of small oil/solvent companies. It will keep,
just remember to always put the caps back on after dispensing. If it's
being stored where it can get rained on, get plastic drum covers like
McMaster 4503T25.

RP-1 & RP-2 have much better thermal performance than Jet-A. Jet-A
shouldn’t go over 300 deg F or lots of carbon depositions will build up.
I would love to get a hold of Exxon Exxsol D-80 but I can’t find a source.
ExxonMobile Chemical does not respond to requests for quotes. D-80 has great
thermal performance and it’s very clean.
I worked with these type of fuels when I was at AFRL and took a liking to
them.
