Yeah, it’s a strange selection given the handling issues of the oxidizer.
However,
It does offer superior dV performance from a volumetric basis compared to most
other (non exotic) liquid fuel combinations and given this will be operating at
ground level all the way, you probably want some priority for the vehicle being
as small as slender as possible.
No cryo ingredients – which could be handy for extended delays out in the
middle of the (potentially hot) desert due to weather or whatever issues.
The hypergolic combo does make the injector design and ignition easier, so it’s
particularly suitable for a project that’s centrally NOT a rocket project.
