My cousin Dan and I decided to do a little birding at Southern Gap this morning
on his way out of town. While there we played a Sora call just in case one had
showed up where Daryl Owens found one last year. We were amazed when we got an
immediate response in the exact location as last year's bird. The tiny cattail
marsh in front of Sykes is once again hosting a migratory Sora. On another
note, Dan and I found a pair of Bobolinks in the hayfield across the creek from
our home yesterday evening. It would be great if they chose to nest there.
