Bob, yes they probably don't have a helpdesk. However that doesn't mean they
don't have people who know what they're talking about. They usually use some
help out there if you look lon gKnouff.

Hi Frank,
I’m thinking that maybe the state where Marsha resides does not have an MCB
help desk the way we do here in Mass. The amount and quality of such services
varies widely from state to state.

Complete untrue, in many if not most states. Many states agencies for the
blind include children's services, social rehabilitation services and elder
blind programs. That is much more than just VR clients. Also many mainstream
computer clubs will happily help a blind person as well as some specifically
made up of blind folks. If I knew where Marsha lives I could give some more
specific advice.

Carl,
For us commoners, unconnected personally with people in our state agencies,
there's no help with assistive technology unless we're receiving rehab
service leading to employment. All of us have to scrounge around for some
kind, helpful, competent person on one of the tech lists for help.

Marsha,
Does your state agency for the blind have an Assitive Technology unit or
person?

I am running Windows 7, Jaws 16, as of yesterday, I can't use Google.
When I try to open it, it disappears. Does anyone have any info about
