Subject: [etni] regarding CDs

Using MP3, MP4 or even CDs is long over due.
One aspect that must be taken into consideration is the possibility to have
tracks. Preferably in such a way that a pupil can stop even in mid sentence
and go easily back to the beginning of the sentence (and not just the
beginning of the paragraph).
If this is not possible, it will make it very difficult for pupils to
navigate and it would be time consuming having to hear the whole paragraph
when all is needed is the last sentence.

Subject: [etni] Re: Bagrut CDs? Surely we can do better
i think a big part of the problem is that we are not talking just
about the bagrut.
from at least the 10th grade, the kids need to be tested in all their
tests in the same way they will do the bagrut.
that comes to about 3 tests each semester.
we have to have a solution for how we are going to create whatever
media is used for the bagrut - for each test.
and it has to be done with equipment the school has - we can't set up
recording studios at home!
tapes were the easiest way for us to record tests, but it was hard for
the kids to find walkmans (even though all of our students did so in
the end).
having worked for many years with a lot of teenage computer whizs
(sp?) , i am very worried about any solution where we download files
to the kids' own MP3 or 4 or whatever the next invention will be -
they will always find a way to have extra files there.
if the school could buy MP3s that we would use only for the tests -
load them with the file, give to the kids at the beginning of the test
and take back at the end - that would be fine. we would need about 20.
does anyone see the schools or the MOE spending money on this?
