I agree with Michelle. Let's please pull all forces together and work with the tools we have (Irgun). Most English teachers would agree that there is no proportion between our workload and what we get paid. Most English teachers would agree that reintroducing literature in the bagrut exam will enrich our students, but the extra work involved on the teachers' part, should be reflected in a salary raise. So why turn this into a debate? The Irgun is certainly far from ideal-but who would expect them to be? I mean, that's what unions are like, as far as I know. Still, I'm grateful that we (still) have one and that they are finally doing something about our situation. So let's stand together, as one united block. I haven't seen any official paper saying that marking logs are paid like marking a bagrut exam. Perhaps that was done in the pilot, but has it been put into policy for implementation of the program? As for the way Irgun HaMorim does things - I have never liked it. I have, in the distant past, said as much on this list. On the other hand, Histadrut HaMorim is no better and has sold all teachers short by signing Ofek Hadash. Michele Mitzi wrote: > I certainly don't object to getting paid more! I don't think that is the way to get want is due us. ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** ----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
