Subject: more on book reports

Another suggestion for alternative non-plagiarized book reports - oral book
reports! Explain to the pupils what you expect them to speak about: title,
author, genre, description of their favorite character, the most
exciting/funniest/interesting part of the book, their recommendations (or
not!) etc. You can also ask them to prepare 1 paragraph they especially
liked to read aloud to the class. After each presentation, the others can
ask questions and should be encouraged to do so!

Prepare a simple rubric for evaluation. You can also give simple rubrics to
the pupils to fill in on the reports in order to encourage listening!

I like to do this activity in the school library for a change of venue.

Laurie
