I would strongly urge against that, for a few reasons:
1. It is very difficult for the weaker learners to concentrate for so long. 2. Learning a language is best when spread out as much as possible. 3. Each day of school that they miss (be it illness, or lessons that are cancelled) they lose 2 lessons!

Our school (Brenner Regional High) is dicussing changes in the way the school time table is set up. The suggestion is to have as many double teaching hours as possible.
