Subject: RE: English and the school time table

I would strongly urge against that, for a few reasons:

1. It is very difficult for the weaker learners to concentrate for so long.
2. Learning a language is best when spread out as much as possible.
3. Each day of school that they miss (be it illness, or lessons that are
   cancelled) they lose 2 lessons!

One lesson is fair enough, for testing and mock testing purposes; more than that may be convenient for the schedulers, but, IMHO, NOT in the best interests of the learners.

Our school (Brenner Regional High) is dicussing changes in the way the school time table is set up. The suggestion is to have as many double teaching hours as possible.
