I am particularly fascinated by the fact that teachers seem to mention the "extra" work involved in giving out the LOG rather than the test. This is my first year teaching bagrut so I don't know what it was like before this whole literature and HOTS thing began. I do know that I enjoy the log far better than I would if I were teaching towards the exam, and I know that my students are better at understanding the material when it's a process rather than "cram" for a test. (Not to belittle the exam teaching process by any means, I'm just speaking about my students in particular as I teach at a special ed. school.) That being said, I too, am curious how either the exam or the LOG accurately assess the student's knowledge/English abilities. Yet, can't help but think that while the change/reform may not be perfect, I am certainly happy that literature has been recognized by the MOE as something that must be required and therefore tested to be certain that it's being taught "properly". ************************************** ** Join ETNI on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/31737970668/ ** ETNI Blog and Poll http://ask-etni.blogspot.co.il/ ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** post to ETNI List - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** help - ask@xxxxxxxx ***************************************
