I have spent the past hour writing and rewriting the test for the unit on
Thank-You Mam. As I go through the process of re-writing the test, I am
discovering mistakes I made in last year's test. Needless to say I am
feeling uncomfortable with this discovery because the problems with the test
are now an inextricable part of my student's bagrut grades.
Even though I thoroughly enjoy teaching the new program, I am experiencing a
very wide spectrum of emotions that include anger (that there are
unrealistic expectations placed on my shoulders), fear that my students
grades may be in jeopardy because of my shortcomings (even though I have
been assured that they won't) and joy at the discovery that I can reinvent
myself and the way I teach. All of these emotions are legitimate.
Some of them are fun. Some of them aren't. We need to be patient with one
other.
