I've been following your thought-provoking discussion and wanted to share with you what we do in our school. We have convinced the principal to purchase 30 mp3 for this purpose. As equipment like this tends to "get lost" in schools, I am in charge of keeping them. Every year I give the teachers the number of mps they need for their students. When there's a test, they give the LD students an mp along with the test. The student sits in class and does the test in class. No need for an additional teacher, no gear problems and no cheating. At the end of the test, the student returns the mp to his teacher. We've been doing it for three years now and it works. Teachers who find it hard to deal with the "technology" get help from me. After the Bagrut, I upload the tests with Audacity and a very good tape recorder that I have bought especially for this purpose. Before a test, I send the teachers what they need or bring them the mps ready to use.
