Sharon
Did you check the Ministry Teachers' Portal?
There is a special site to plan your personal professional development plan,
this is where we actually submit it and then it's approved (Tichnoon
Hitpatchut Mikzoit)
Check it with your password and feed the data with your specialty level, I
think that 7 is the last one as far as "Hitpatchut Ishit" courses are
involved (it's called "Ramat Mumchioot")

http://cms.education.gov.il/EducationCMS/Applications/HtlNet/HomePage.htm

Maybe you'll find what you're looking for there, though I doubt it.
I am studying this year ENGLISH Remedial Teaching at Nitzan, and it's not
according to the ministry "plan" for me, though I also registered the "must"
ofek 60 hours hishtalmut that I have to as well, and after a long tiring
correspondence with the head of this department (Ilana Rosenberg) - I got a
refusal and a big no to acknowledge the studies I am taking this year,
though I am fully paying for them, with the claim that it's not according to
the path of that ofek hadash has for me... BTW, it'll never be the path for
me. They claimed that since I am not teaching in special ed., this is not
the target population training for me. But how many English teachers can
work full time in special education schools? They hardly get one hour
English per week, and they only start towards 6th grade! My son has been
studying in special education schools for years, so I personally know it,
and regret it. I gave up trying to claim that THEESE ARE THE JH PUPILS that
I TEACH IN MY GROUPS- MOSTLY LD AND ADHD PUPILS!!! I just study for myself!

In order to advance to darga 7, teachers will be required to study in an
academic institution with a specific program for this. Does anyone know of
any programs that are geared to teachers of English?

thanks
