I’m so glad that you sent in your letter telling about your negative
experiences in a school which has adopted the new reform. I hope that other
teachers who have joined the reform will share their experiences.
One of the issues I have with the reform is this "small group" business. Forget
the fact that teaching in a small group is still teaching... I just don't
understand how it can be done logistically. Taking kids out of one class to
learn in a small group in another doesn't make any sense - (unless it is in
the same subject... even then it is problematic). And it's quite obvious that
all the small groups can't be scheduled at the same time either.
