I also have that problem, it is usually because I have not got a GPS fix
yet and it just assumes I am where I was, I tend to press Q which gives you th
e quality ie how many satellites, it there is not fix it then tries to
get one. There probably is a more correct way to do this but it works for
me!

I do often encounter the problem that even though I'm miles away from
where I ended up last time I used the gps, it keeps telling me I'm there
when I'm miles and miles away and have a connection.
