Thanks, Chris.  

Please keep in mind that when on a Route, Seeing Eye announces everything
perfectly.  It's only when I'm just walking, with no route active, that the
anomaly occurs.

Hi,
Create the route, a short route that exibits the problem.
then go to settings/routing then there is a send route logs button, hit that
button , type/dictate  a description and hit send.
