I to, use the After Shokz, I to, would prefer some where the bleed over into the room was not so much. Persons 4 feet from me don't want to hear Styx playing, maybe they like some clasic country... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Baracco, Andrew W" <Andrew.Baracco@xxxxxx>

I hope that the new model is more durable. I had to return my first pair
after about 3 months because the left side audio quit. They sent me a
new pair, and after about 6 months, the buttons on the ear pieces do not
work anymore. The whole design is so fragile that I am constantly
worried about breaking them.

Hi,

I use the Aftershokz Bluez for several hours a day to listen to
podcasts. I have never had the problem of them dropping out. I keep my
iPhone 5s in my left pants pocket while using the Bluez.

Alex,

Seems to me your expectations can't be realized by this technology.
While I haven't needed the bluetooth version I do have the wired set for
my GPS system. The point is not so much private listening as it is to be
able to hear while not blocking out ambient sounds. While I can't speak
to the Bluetooth function I am pleased with the ability to have the GPS
instructions audible while also being able to hear traffic, sound echoes
and the other audible cues which add to mobility function.

Privacy requires something very different.

Cheers.

Dale Leavens.

As I said on Twitter, I recently got a first-gen pair and they are
really not what I was hoping for. Noise bleeding is terrible,
especially in a car or on the bus, and the connection drops if I put
my phone in a pocket or even move my body the wrong way. I can wear
them for hours and I like the theory, but they are not nearly as
practical as the glowing reviews i've read would have led me to
believe. As one person put it: "it's more like waring two little
speakerphones on your head than using headphones", and that sums it
up perfectly. At a decent volume for me to hear over an engine,
everyone around me can clearly hear my entire phone conversation, or
book, or whatever I'm listening to, which is *not* what any sort of
headphones should do. Please keep us updated on your tests with the
new units, as I hope I can swap these out for something that works
better instead of having to return them and find something else.
Thanks, and have fun at CES! You're so lucky to be able to
 go
to that!

Here at CES in Las Vegas, I am pleased to test the new Aftershokz
model.
There are a number of improvements.

The electronics have been moved from the back of the headband to the

sides giving it a more balanced feel. The weight is the same but I
find that it squeezes my temples less and the sound is still good.

The controls are on the right part of the band. There is no longer a

button on the right ear tip.

The antenna has been moved forward so the unit does not drop out as
much as the previous model.

There is better isolation so the sound linkage is much less.

The sound is different but I haven't tried them in enough different
situations to know just how different. For phone calls and using
Voiceover, they are good.

They expect to be shipping in March. I'll comment more after I have
had time to test thoroughly.
