Mike,

I live in Chicago and tried to use the Seeing Eye GPS app to plan a
multi-modal trip from my office in downtown Chicago to the fifth
district Cook County Courthouse at 10220 S. 76th Ave in Bridgeview,
IL. The Seeing Eye app routed me to a Metra commuter train to
Manhattan, IL and to walk several miles to the courthouse. By
contrast, the multi-modal trip planner provided by the Regional
Transportation Authority at GoRoo.com routed me properly to the L and
then to a Pace suburban bus at Midway Airport that took me directly in
front of the court facility. Using the L and the bus, the trip would
take 74 minutes compared to the two hours and 20 minutes projected by
the Seeing Eye app.

It seems obvious from this and other multi-modal routs I have planned
that the Seeing Eye app has route information for the Chicago Transit
Authority and Metra commuter rail only but lacks any information
regarding the more than 200 routes of the Pace suburban bus system.
Usually when travel services say public transit information is
available for a particular city, it means that all transit providers
are included in that region, not just some. Why was Pace not
included? Could it be added? If not, documentation should specify
that only CTA and Metra routes are available and no Pace routes.
Otherwise some might be confused.

I will still have GoRoo bookmarked in Safari to plan trips with public
transit in the suburbs.

Kelly
