Paul,

Have a look at the lat/lon format when you first do the Control Y so you
know how to enter a new one. Make sure to enter the minus before the
longitude or you will be in the middle of the ocean.

I usually use a decimal point in Sendero Maps. If you are entering on the
BrailleNote, I believe you have to choose the method with or without a
decimal point.

If you created a POI from that point, you can delete that from your user POI
list. If you just set the position virtually, that is only temporary.

Mike

Subject: [gps-talkusers] Removing a Lon Lat Position I Created

Good morning,

Yesterday while trying to create a point from a lon lat setting in decimal
format I don't know how, but instead of being in NC it was created 5000
miles away then when I redid it I was 9 thousand miles from home. Now these
are still there and I have not been able to get them off. Any help
appreciated and below is what I did so you can also tell me where I screwed
up. Thank you.

I did CTREl Y which brought up the lon lat selection with the edit fields.
I had read to use a space between the degrees and minutes so typed in 36
08959 then the lat on the next line. I hit next and gave it a name and hit
OK. I was out in the middle of an ocean and a bit too far to swim. What
was wrong with this example?

Have a great day,

Paul Bolduc
