First, I might suggest that the fact that the GPS upgrade and SMA purchase as shown on the May 24th price list clearly indicate that the SMA with this purchase only contains the two additional SMA account after the upgrade. I thought that was a really good deal to get the three SMA and the upgrade, almost posted that fact on the list, but then had to contact Sendero on another matter, thus I'm now glad I never sent the email. Thinking the same as you, that you couldn't get the SMA until you had upgraded to the latest version, I had waited to purchase the 2011 upgrade for my Voice Sense. For, goofy as it may sound, when I called to purchase the SMA for my OnHand when it was at the reduced price, I opted not to get the one for my VS, as I wanted to hold off and get the upgrade first. That way, after upgrading to 2011 and then purchasing the SMA, I figured I would then have three remaining SMA counts for all three of my Sendero GPS products, and I was indeed looking forward to having that equal remaining SMA count for all those products. But, as with you, when I asked about it yesterday, I was told about the three license count, with one of them being for the upgrade to 2011, while the other two went toward future SMA counts. Still hoping to have things even, I asked if I could purchase the upgrade separately, and then purchase the SMA, and was told that the licenses had to come in this count of three. When I asked further, best I can recall, although this is not a direct quote, I was told that this is how the map supplier required the licenses to be purchased now. Being a long time customer of Sendero, and believing they had no choice in this matter, I gave my credit card number for the upgrade. But, I can't say I was totally pleased about this new procedure. For, if one discounts my relatively unimportant desire to have things all even, there are likely folks who would have had to struggle to just pay for the upgrade alone, and the SMA for over double the price, that could very well just be out of the question. Again, I don't blame Sendero here; but, while I was always happy to voluntarily help them and myself by paying ahead for the SMA's, I don't feel quite the same way about being forced to pay ahead for SMA's in order to be able to upgrade to the latest version. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tommy Craig <tecraig@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <gps-talkusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tuesday, Jun 7, 2011 02:02:58 AM Subject: [gps-talkusers] SenseNav Upgrade > > > Hi Everyone, > > I called Sendero today to see about upgrading my 2010 version of SenseNav to > the 2011 version.
