You can use R, A and then E to determine the remaining distance in your
route once you create it.

For example, if I enter the address of my place of work, and press the
letter D or Dot6 for Destination, it is 18.05 miles to the South as the crow
flies.

If I press the letter R, then V to create a vehicle route, and then press D
for Destination, it is still 18.05 miles to the South.

But you can then check the actual route distance as follows:

Press the letter R for Route commands.

Press the letter A for Route Announcement command list.

Press the letter E for Remaining distance in route.

By pressing R, A and then E, I see that the actual driving distance is 27.21
miles.

The same method works for both vehicle and pedestrian routes.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] distances help pease

Hi

My Pk always comes up with wrong distances from point A to point B, for
example, when I create a vehicle route to Sheffield which is approximately
221 miles it tells me It is 187 miles, is it calculating as the crow flies
or have I somewhere got settings wrong? The example about is just one, but
it is in both pedestrian, vehicle and other so is at least constant! I find
it misleading as I walk a lot and will often look at distance before I
decide on modes of transport, but when calculating how much time I have
before a meeting I need a more accurate distance to know how long it would
take me to walk a route, hope that makes sense! I guess if there is no way
to change the setting I will just have to put up with it and take it as one
of it's quirks!

Thanks in advance

Tony
