You can have the best GPS receiver in the world, and it's not much more than a paperweight without map data. I don't recall saying for sure that a certain receiver would work with the ipod touch, that's pretty much hit or miss. On Android, you can use bluetooth GPS receivers and they work really well, this does not work on IOS without jail breaking the device. Als, the look around app requires an internet connection, which when walking about you most likely will not have with an ipod touch.
