Hello Mike,
As for using NavTeq POIs yes we have a license for the full POI data, but
MapQuest currently doesn't so until they license and put all the NavTeq POIs
on the server we are suck with what they have to offer.  The beauty is once
they update their POI databases all our customers will get the update
automatically.  Since the NavTeq POIs were limited this was our main reason
for also including FourSquare POIs as well as the ability to search through
OSM POIs.

Yes adding Google places is another option we are considering,

One other thing I was wondering, if using the navteq maps does it include
all of the points of interest navteq has available. I remember reading that
there are different levels of POI information that can be licensed. Also,
you may want to consider adding google places as an option. It would be
interesting to compare the POIS that Google and Foursquare provide.
