If you press enter and dot 4, this will raise the volume up to 32. It's still difficult to hear sometimes, but when that happens, I just check the Braille with my right hand, which is easy enough to do, even though I'm primarily a left handed reader. I wear the strap over my left shoulder so that the PK is at around hip level on my right hip.
Having said that, there is a speaker available on the cool products of the Sendero website, and you can buy it from Radio shack. It connects to one end of a cable and the other end of the cable connects to the PK.
Roger Bem also sells the speaker with a case so that it can be connected to the PK strap.

Hi folks,
I have a question. I have started to use my Gps with the p k and have some difficulty hearing it in heavy traffic. I have the volume on number 5. Is there a small speaker I could get to attach to the p k which would be closer to my ear, and loud enough to hear? How much would one cost, and where could I get it? Thanks.
Linda Paul
