Hi, all,
I was in a car using the gps on PK to direct the person driving. Somehow we
got onto the wrong road (Massachusetts signs are *so* hard to follow!), and the
gps said "recalculating route" It took forever, and meanwhile, we were still
moving. Then it kept saying, turn x behind so many yards, miles, whatever.
Then, because we had no opportunity to turn around, it said "off route," then
it said nothing.
When I tried to find out about the next turn on what I thought would be the
recalculated route, it only told me about turns on the last route.
Now, again, I am familiar enough with the area to know that going back is
not the only way, and we did manage to find our way.
Oh, yeah, I also cancelled the route altogether and reentered the
destination address a couple of times to force the gps to calculate a new route
from where we were, but it didn't really do it. And all we had to do was stay
on Route 116 until the turn onto Route 145. It wanted us to get off 16 onto
other roads, then onto 145, don't know why?
So my question is: what is supposed to happen when the system recalculates?
Should it not give you directions from whatever position you are in at that
time, no matter how lost or off track you are? Why did it stop giving
directions at all once it told us we were off route?
Thanks.
