I would seriously consider this as an issue (either manufacturing or
design) of the monitor, and I would certainly send it back.
I've never heard of such an issue with large displays. (I haven't
used any larger than 27 inch, nor explicitly searched for it, but I
doubt that by design any proper monitor should have this behaviour.)
